I have the Artemis Fowl (Eoin Colfer) books

The Artemis Fowl series is for young adult/teen reading

Artemis Fowl is a twelve year old genius, super rich, and is the head of a large crime family. I cannot remember why, but his parents are not around; at least for the first book. Fairy people have been living in secret, hiding themselves from humanity. In the first book, Artemis Fowl captures a fairy named Holly Short. Artemis holds her for ransom in an attempt to restore his family's fortune.

The first of the Artemis Fowl (Eoin Colfer) books is in my inventory. Request it from me if you like.

Anyone still interested?

I have a lot of young adult books I just boxed up from my son's room. Are there moochers out there still interested in YA books?

I also have a bunch of younger chapter books like Wayward School and a bunch of Choose Your Own Adventure. Are there moochers out there who are interested in these?

Just thought I'd ask before I listed them. If no one is interested then I will probably donate them to a local place.

Thanks for reading...

(originally posted in wrong place... sorry... semi-newbie here)

Looking for YA reads!

Always looking for good YA reads. I like fantasy, NOT ROMANCE. I'm into stuff like Harry Potter, Neil Gaiman, Howl's Moving Castle, not Twilight. Thank you.

(6 years ago)Hi, not a big fan of the "vampire romance" type books... and I'm low on credits at the moment anyway. Thanks for your recommendation though!

Take a look!

Any teens/young adults still here?

Hi all,
I just noticed this forum and though it looked pretty cool. It's too bad that it's so inactive, though. Are there still any other teens or young adults on here who want to chat about books?

(7 years ago)I am a junior high librarian who is very interested in discussing YA books. I like to stay on top of what's being read by 7th and 8th graders. The most popular books in my library this year is romance, urban fiction, paranormal, graphic novels, sports, humor, dystopian/sci-fi and fantasy. Series like Bluford High, Southside, Hunger Games, Mortal Instruments, Pretty Little Liars, Harry Potter and Vampire Academy are most popular. Books by these authors stay checked out: Rick Riordan, Nikki Carter, James Patterson, Sharon Draper, Stephanie Perry Moore, Meg Cabot, Nicholas Sparks, Jeff Kinney, and Lincoln Peirce. Newer authors that we love include: Marie Lu, Kristin Cashore, Lisa McMann and Rick Yancy.

i have a couple of interesting YA books

Oil by James Laxer- a nonfiction guide to "the relationship between oil, geopolitics, and money, and he examines how different parts of the world — both users and suppliers — relate differently to this commodity."

and

Dating Hamlet by Lisa Fiedler- a retelling of Hamlet from Ophelia's point of view.

X-treme Cuisine... Life skills before leaving home!

I've got a great cookbook. For the younger set in my inventory. "Recipes, interviews, etiquette, and secret tips from the greatest personalitiez in surf, skate, snow, and BMX." Richly illustrated with action photos and fairly simple instructions for the foods likely to please teens. It's not haute cuisine but it may show your kid that serving a meal is a universal pleasure achievable by all of us. Im amazed at how much "good stuff" exists nowadays for young adults. And there are no substirutes for a cookbook in today's pantheon of digital devices! Bon Appetit young son.

A good survival story!

I have "The Hatchet" available in my Inventory. Suitable for younger teens and mature pre-teens. As an adult reader it held my interest despite being a quick read. There is a brief but exciting description of a moose attack!

Perfect reading for a summer camping trip.

(10 years ago)This was one of my favorite books when I was younger, and I've been meaning to get a copy of it to reread. I'll mooch it now!

hi!

I'm a teenager and I read primarily young adult books. Books on my wishlist don't come up that often, but it would be cool if I could check out inventories of other people who have ya books so I can find books not on my list as well. Also, I often have books that I haven't posted yet (most on there are my mom's), so I can look at your lists as well to see if maybe I have some on there!
Hope this forum will help some people, and thanks!

(11 years ago)Check out the International Wishlist Tag Game">Intermational Wishlist Tag Game Forum. Someone might offer you some of your wishlisted books. More participants would certainly improve the odds of getting tagged. Give it a shot. You've got nothing to lose and you might even score a book or two that you've been wishing for. (11 years ago)Hi Tia, no problem starting your own forum, especially since it does seem to be a new topic. I have read YA books (since I work with young people) and I know there are quite a few others who do as well. Hopefully you'll get a few who do to join you here;)
