Product Description
"Judge Dee at Work" is a collection of eight stories including "Five Auspicious Clouds" and "The Coffins of the Emperor." Like the adventures of Sherlock Holmes, each case demonstrates Dee's methods in detection.
A five-page "Judge Dee Chronology" at the back of the book describes Dee's career: when, where, and with whose help he solved every one of his cases.
ROBERT VAN GULIK (1910-1967) was a Dutch diplomat and an authority on Chinese history and culture. He drew his plots from the whole body of Chinese literature, especially from popular detective novels that first appeared in the seventeenth century.
