jen (USA: CA) (2006/11/18): Liked this book a lot -- really sweet little book. But ultimately, I found it a bit forgettable.
Brittany (USA: IL) (2008/04/05): I hardly found it forgettable. The story is sweet and sad, the characters play an interesting dance in rural China, unjustly separated from family and friends and forced from city life to one on a farm. I gave the book away to a friend a long time ago since I loved it so much, the movie is a pretty good adaptation for anyone interested!
fsofield (USA: VT) (2008/04/28): I hated this book. I found it uninteresting. Way too over-hyped to me.
BrandyBrooke (USA: NY) (2008/05/28): I loved this little book. I read it in two days and enjoyed every minute of it. I got a kick out of the ending too. I debated whether or not I should keep it for myself, but I decided to list it. Enjoy!
tekylove (France) (2009/02/08): The titled was fascinating But the story itself does not deserve to be Read Sorry for the author but the plot was too irritating
blklacquer (USA: TX) (2010/08/24): with the mixed reviews I didn't know what to expect, but I decided i would read it myself. I am so glad that I did, it was a very interesting story, so much so that I actually want to read Balzac (had no idea who is was) and possibly more from this author!
