Loved this book. The characters were so real and the story unfolded in layers. The whole mistique surrounding Dracula has always fascinated and repelled. I was a fan of Dark Shadows, but this wasn't campy at all. Had a hard time putting it down.

I concur with SouthernYankee (and I also love Dark Shadows). This book is seriously unnerving, and yet the characters have a rich depth that make each chapter spellbinding.

Woah. Very thick book. I surprised myself that I actually finished it. I was thankful I finished it. With (almos) all the descriptive words written in the book, I was like okay, i'm done.

This book is LONG (and big...and heavy) - but I absolutely loved it. I did think it dragged on at times, but it really was very "Indiana Jones" with a Dracula mystery twist. I highly recommend it - but it is going to take a committment to read. This is another book that I'd love to read again...but alas, so many books, so little time.
