While this book is written beautifully, it lacks something major - a point. It intrigued me to begin with and had so much potential, yet delivered nothing. The characters are rich and likeable, and yet take you nowhere. There is a feeling as though something amazing will happen if you just keep reading, until the whole thing is over and still nothing has happened. Left me wondering how to get the hours of my life back.

This was a little hard to get into at the beginning, but then the plot turned in a strange twist. I liked how the sentences are very clear, and Murakami uses precisely the right words to describe events. I have been to Tokyo and was one reason I got this. If you've been to that metropolis, you might like this.
