Great book. I thought it started slow, but i loved the premise of the story, and it was truly a hoot. I've never read Helprin before, but now i will try to find more by him. Well done!!

I bought this book in a little bookshop during vacation in Cape Cod. I read the whole thing in a couple of days. The book is a fascinating look inside the lives of the silly-privileged Royals and is obviously a parody of Charles & Diana. The overall premise (I don't want to give it away) is a little off-the-wall, but it really works. The earlier reviewer says that its "started slow," but I would disagree with that. In my view, this is one of those rare books that you're actually disappointed when you turn to the last page - not disappointed in the ending, but disappointed that it is over.
