Status message:
Money is very very tight for me right now, and doesn't show signs of improving in the immediate future. That means you may be waiting a few months for your books to arrive, as I will have to send them slow, and send them when I have the money.

Books sent overseas from Australia generally take around one to two weeks, unless held up in customs. They may take longer if the book is large and I have to choose a slower method due to cost. If your country does not have an option for a cheap form of postage, I may have to decline, but in that case, I am very willing to work with someone on the BookMooch Angel Network to get the book to you.

I am a pensioner, so sometimes there may be delays due to lack of money or illness. Please be patient with me if this occurs.

Bio:
I am a 35 year old woman living with her partner, her mother, three dogs, three cats, and an Eastern Blue Tongued Skink. I am a voracious reader. My special interests lie in fantasy/sci-fi, multiple personality and in particular the autistic spectrum. I also enjoy other books on psychology, generally of the 'personal account' style. My personal 'library' at home probably numbers over 1500 books, but I am only up to the 850 mark in cataloguing them with a free program called BookDB2, made by SpaceJock Software.

My best advice for people looking for good books on the autistic spectrum!

* Most of the 'personal accounts' on my list were found on the Autistic Authors Booklist. I can't recommend this list enough. Anyone who thinks that Donna Williams and Temple Grandin are the only autists who have written books should look at this. It's missing some of the most recent publications, but it's still definitely the first port of call for anyone wanting books by and for people on the spectrum.

* Check out Jessica Kingsley Publishers. A huge percentage of the books on autism and Asperger's Syndrome are brought out by them. Also have a look at Lucky Duck and Autism Asperger Publishing Company.

* Cruise around online booksellers such as Amazon and Alibris. These often have lists with recommendations and reviews. You may stumble across a treasure just by following the links, and you can find a lot of feedback that will tell you if a book is right for you. Especially with Amazon, the Moochbar add-on is particularly useful.
