Status message:
I have a mixture of books: some were new and just read by me and maybe a friend but I also have a number from the many excellent second hand book shops and sites I use. I will always honestly describe the condition of the book I have available. I do not own tatty or stained books but see no reason why well loved and cared for books should not be reread. They are old friends after all.

I will send books abroad but please email me first of all. I have sent light books to Europe air mail but other than that I would use surface mail when sending abroad.

As a rule of thumb this is a useful guide to the condition of books I'm sending

AS NEW - Excellent condition - Apparently unread

VERY GOOD - May have been read once or twice, may have light creasing to cover or spine - overall generally very clean and tidy, dustwrapper (if present) will be clean and tidy

GOOD - May have been read several times, some creasing to cover and/or spine, otherwise generally clean and tidy, dustwrapper (if present) may be creased around the edges

READING COPY - Well read, Cover may be worn, pages showing various signs of an aging book. No smells or staining from liquids though - a perfectly readable book.

I am an avid reader who belongs to a couple of book groups. I think it is a great idea to be able to send a book on to someone who you know really wants it and will appreciate it. We are a non smoking home but have two cats.
